Is this made by Google?

No. Gplex Extended is a fan project, not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

Does Gplex see my passwords?

No. The sign-in, sign-up and password pages are only restyled: Gplex never reads, stores or sends anything typed into them, and Google's own security messages stay on the page.

Which browsers does it work in?

Any browser that runs Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey: Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and others. In Chrome 138 and later, turn on "Allow User Scripts" for Tampermonkey.

My browser is too old for Gplex Extended. Is there a version for it?

Yes: Gplex Legacy, on the Download page. It is built for old browsers such as Firefox 52 ESR on Windows XP and restyles the lighter pages Google sends them (the Search home page and results, settings and error pages).

How do I change the year?

In Gplex's settings at google.com/gplex, or by searching for "Google in 2009" (any year works).

Can I turn it off for one product?

Yes. Every product (Gmail, Maps, Drive, Keep and the rest) has its own switch in Gplex's settings. To see a single page without Gplex, add ?gplex=false to its address, or use "Load page without Gplex" in the userscript manager's menu.

What about Google's AI features?

Gplex removes Gemini, "Help me write" and similar prompts from the pages it themes, and never shows Google's AI-written answers in People also ask. The AI Overview box on search results can be switched off in Gplex's settings.

Why is this website plain HTTP?

So it opens on old computers and browsers that cannot handle modern HTTPS. The download here is the same file as on GitHub. On a modern computer you can install from GitHub over HTTPS instead, which also guarantees the file was not changed on its way to you.

Where do I report a bug or ask for a feature?

On GitHub, under Issues. A screenshot and the layout you use help a lot.
